I strive to capture something of the wonder and beauty of my particular time and place.

My challenge is not simply to paint what I see, but what I retain from seeing. I draw greater attention to my surroundings by rearranging them as they persist in my imagination and memory. 

My work is heavily influenced by the flora and landscapes of rural New England, especially central Massachusetts, where I grew up, and western Massachusetts, where I have lived for more than 40 years.
