I am a New Salem resident and retired teacher. Although I taught school for 30 years (and loved it) I have always had an interest in different mediums including oils, acrylics and watercolors. After retiring a few years ago, I began to investigate soft pastels and developed a passion for this medium. Soft pastels are pure pigment, with intense colors well-suited to blending and layering. These pastels are delicate but brilliant and long lasting and a lot of fun to work with.
Lately I have been focusing on landscapes. I love vacationing on Cape Cod where the natural beauty of the ocean and the salt marshes is especially compelling to me. Being an avid gardener, I also enjoy painting flowers and gardens.
