Beverly Phaneuf earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Westfield State University and graduate degrees from the University of Massachusetts. She worked as a classroom teacher in Belchertown and later as an elementary school Principal in Southwick, Massachusetts.
A pastel workshop at the Palmer library launched her career as an artist. Intrigued by the beautiful colors, she began painting with a local artist, working first in pastel and later in oil. Preferring to paint from life, many of her landscapes are created plein air.
Bev continues to attend classes and workshops and has travelled throughout the US and Europe to paint. She serves as the Quabbin Art Association's Plein Air Coordinator organizing paint-outs throughout Western MA from April to November.
She is a lifetime resident of Western Massachusetts and currently lives in Belchertown.
