A few years ago, I attended a Social Painting class that started me on my path to adopting painting as a serious interest. I realized my love for painting and I continue to discover new ways to interpret the world around me through my use of color. I have discovered so much beauty in the world since I have started painting.
Most of my inspiration comes from my love of being a mother, hiking, the ocean, nature and gardening. Most of my paintings originate with my own photography.
My paintings are influenced by such places as the farms of Hadley, the Rockport harbor, Quabbin Reservoir, my own flower gardens, my travels, and my family. I have exhibited my artwork at Northampton Cooperative Bank, Greenfield Savings Bank, Atkins Farms, the Hubbard Memorial Public Library, River Valley Coop, and Aunt Elsie’s Bakery. It is because of their generous support of local artists that I am able to display my artwork.
I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I have enjoyed painting them. - Anna Burns
