Member Announcements

Tina Addison’s watercolor class students' artwork is on exhibit at The South Hadley Town Hall.

Meg Bandara has six paintings on exhibit in Senator Comerford’s Boston office for the next six months. Meg also announced she will be participating in an Art and Craft Fair at St. Cecelia’s church in Wilbraham on Saturday November 23 from 9am-3pm.

Charlotte Burns artwork is on exhbit at Auntie Elsie’s Oatmeal Crisps in November.

Les Campbell and Elaine Darr-Morton are hosting a Sky Meadow Gallery "Holiday Open House" 1 – 5 pm, on December 15, 2019 (snow date Dec 22, 2019). Come and visit the gallery at 50 Ballou Street, Belchertown, MA and chat with the artists. Refreshments served and free drawing at 4 pm for a signed Les Campbell framed photograph.

Roger Duffy's artwork was awarded 1st place in the Friends of the Agawam Public Library 11th Open Juried Art Show for “Other Media” graphic art. Exodus 14:15-16 was awarded 2nd place at Sadie & Eli Gurvich Memorial Adult Art Exhibit in Springfield. In addition, Roger received 3rd place in the Tobacco Valley Art Association Fall Exhibit with Psalm 84: 1-4, and he received 1st and 3rd place in the Scantic River Artisans Juried Art Show for graphic arts.

Denise Fontaine-Pincince sold a Mixed Media piece at the South Hadley Public Library show in October.

Bev Phaneuf's South Rim oil painting is an official selection in the 11th Open Juried Show at the Agawam Public Library.

Nancy Roy's Interactive School House offers art lessons and creative workshops. Experienced instructors whose artwork is featured in The Bohemian Owl teach modern and traditional art techniques.

Deborah Sacon is pleased to announce her first solo exhibition “Color and Light: Plein Air Meditations” opening October 3 and on view through December 29, 2019. The exhibit is at the Atwood Gallery, of Cooley Dickenson Hospital, located at 22 Atwood Drive, in Northampton. Hours are 8:00am–4:30 pm, Monday–Friday.

Through the generous funding of the Northampton Arts Council and Art Angels, Rochelle Shicoff and a host of volunteers have recently completed a vibrant, 32 ft. mural on the rail-trail leading towards Easthampton. The Friends of Northampton Trails will be hosting a dedication and celebration of this community art project on Monday, November 11, 2:00pm.

As a city official, funder or advocate of community arts we hope that you can join us at the dedication. There will be a few short remarks, refreshments and an opportunity to meet the lead artist, Rochelle Shicoff, and the many volunteers who contributed to this new, visual treat on the rail-trail.

Maureen Solomon and Susan James are hosting a Studio Party on November 9, 3–5pm at their Studio 166 on the 2nd floor. This event is part of the Fall Open Studio and Art Show at Indian Orchard Mills.

Alexandra Walters will join the Artists at Indian Orchard Mills as they open their studios to the public during their two-day event scheduled November 9 & 10. View show schedules, directions and gallery hours online.
