I hold Studio Art degrees from Holyoke Community College and Mount Holyoke College. My concentration has always been painting and photography. Due to work and family responsibilities, art has taken a back seat in my life. With retirment approaching, I have a renewed interest in being more creative, experiementing with art materials, and making plans to convert an in-law apratment into a home art studio.
I use many mediums, with photography and pastel being my favorites, because of their quick results and easy access. I am interested in color relationships, often using complementary colors in my work. I work from both observation and imagination, with surprising results. In the past, I have worked extensively in portraiture and the figure. Currently, I am exploring color relationships using still life and landscape which allow me the freedom to be more inventive in my artwork.
